“Surviving Ms. D’s Class” End of the Year Brochure Projects

Since the end of the school year is upon us and we have finished state testing, the students are starting to get a little restless. To keep them from jumping out the windows or bouncing off the walls I created two different End of the Year Projects. My seventh graders are working on the “Surviving Ms. D’s class brochure Project.”

Basically they are making a brochure of how to survive my class for the upcoming seventh graders. I specifically spelled out what needed to go on the brochure. They got the following directions from me:

It doesn’t matter how you format within the brochure, but please include the following:

  • At the top, include the Title and “In Order to Survive Ms. D’s Writing Class, there are a few things you should know. Please take caution and follow these instructions.”
  • Answer the following questions (make sure you type out the questions and then answer them in complete sentences).
    • One helpful thing I wish I knew before stepping foot into her writing class was…
    • The hardest part about Writing was…
    • The thing I liked most about Writing was…
    • Ms. D takes off points for…
    • Ms. D is strict about…
    • One way to be successful in Writing class is to…
    • After reading all this valuable information, my biggest piece of advice is…

Please make sure you add color and pictures to your brochure to receive full credit.

The kids really like this project because they are going to hand over these brochures to the upcoming 6th graders… so they can survive Ms. D’s class too!
