Valentine’s Day Gift Giving Guide

With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought I would give some gift ideas. Even though I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s day, Nick and I still celebrate it every year (usually with a homemade card and simple gifts).

Simple Valentine’s Day

For those of you like me (simple, not super into Valentine’s), just celebrate with something small. We have a simple celebration every year; we usually order take out like Chinese or pizza, and our gifts for each other are pretty classic Valentine’s gifts. I usually give Nick a card (store bought or handmade) and some candy, specifically Reese’s cups. Nick usually gets me flowers and a card, which is perfect for me!

More Complex Options

If you want something a little fancier, there is always the option to go out for dinner and give each other more substantial gifts. The best advice I can give would be to give someone something special or meaningful to them. It doesn’t just go for Valentine’s either, this goes for every gift giving opportunity for me. One of my favorite gifts that I have every given is a vintage record player. Over the past couple of years I have given record players to a couple different people, but I think giving one to my step-dad who loves music was my favorite. Plus, the records that go along with it are great follow up gifts!

For the special lady in your life, one of my favorite gifts that Nick gets me is jewelry. One of my favorite gifts to get from anyone in general is jewelry! I wear it daily and love switching it up. Jewelry is super easy too because there are so many options… necklaces, bracelets, earrings, sets, and even rings! There is a huge variety to choose from when choosing jewelry. You can go with birthstone jewelry or themed jewelry based on their interests are great!

These are just a few ideas for the upcoming holiday, but it is a start for those of you who are running a little late with your planning!
